About the Adventure Sailing Experience
Whether you’re planning a visit to Southern California or you live in the area, Adventure Sailing can take you on a fabulous and memorable chartered sailboat excursion. You tell us how long a trip you want (from a few hours to multiple days) and where you want to go, and we’ll work with you to make it happen. Your nautical escape will be:
- Private – Just you, your party of up to 5 people, and Captain Chuck.
- Exciting – Because it’s always exciting to be out on the open ocean. Plus, if you want, you’re welcome to help sail the boat.
- Relaxing – You’ll have plenty of time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the quiet sound of the wind in the sails and the beauty of the sea.
- Delicious – Beverages, snacks, boxed lunches or freshly cooked meals can be provided.

About Your Captain
Captain Charles "Chuck" Waltman first fell in love with sailing when he was eight years old, and he’s been an avid sailor ever since. A licensed captain (he holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner license), Captain Chuck has logged thousands of hours on the water in the past 40 years. An educated, well-spoken professional, Captain Chuck enjoys teaching his passengers about everything from how to hoist the sails to the intricacies of navigation, oceanic "rules of the road," and more.
About the Boat
You’ll be sailing – and sleeping, if you’re planning an overnight trip – on a comfortable 36-foot Catalina sailboat. Outfitted with a kitchen, RV-style bathroom and sleeping quarters, the boat provides accommodations that are more on par with a “motel” experience versus a “4-star luxury hotel.” The boat also has a motorized rubber inflatable dingy that you can use for transportation to and from shore when we drop anchor at your destination (waves permitting).
